Testing methodology

Comparison results are a guide, not an absolute truth. This page explains where data comes from and how scores are calculated.

Test rig updated
01

Specification sources

Official manufacturer specifications, architecture documentation and verified retail products are primary sources.

02

Result sources

Game FPS and application tests are stored with their test rig. Synthetic results remain separate from games.

03

How scores are normalized

Raw FPS, benchmark points and specifications are mapped to a 0–100 scale inside one category and scenario.

04

How the overall score is calculated

The overall score combines performance, efficiency and value. Scenario ratings use their own documented weights.

05

How price is handled

CMS stores MSRP in USD. Local display uses currency rates; price affects value scores, not raw performance.

06

How missing data is handled

A missing value is not zero. It is excluded from the average and marked as unavailable.

07

Mobile and desktop versions

Mobile and desktop products remain separate even when their commercial names are similar.

08

Update frequency

Catalog data is reviewed regularly and the rig is updated after material driver, OS or hardware changes.
